Brilliant farm shop and butchers, where I can support local jobs, get quality produce and buy guaranteed Royal veterinary, RSPCA approved meat slaughtered in a humane low volume way, unlike the halal meat often palmed onto the un-suspecting in supermarkets.Farm shop is lovely selling top quality seasonal fresh fruit and veg and ciders and beers too. Excellent choice of other products as well. All of the below was boght from here including some lovely fresh sage.The meat is no more expensive than the equivelant sold in supermarkets (if you can buy it at all) and see this recipe below...1/ 15 of shin2/ fry in oil until brown.3/ then add shallots4/ then barley and water5/Add bay leaves, black pepper.6 After an hour add potatoes carrots, more shallotts.7/ After another 15 minutes add parsnip, swede, greens, and sliced turnip.8 After 5 minutes add dumplings and season to tasteRemarkably, the whole recipe just takes one and a half hours. We cook in a two gallon pot for the whole family giving us 32 half pint servings. (see pictures) Because the meat is of such high quality, it is tastry and cooked, whilst lesser products would be as tough as old boots and tasteless.The best part is this, the wole cost for 32 servings comes to just under 20.00! with a generous serving of beef whith every mouthfulEat good, treat your friends and family and do your bit for the community.

Me and my wife absolutely loved going and picking our own fruit today and the veg is to fresh from the farm shop. Paige the lovely girl in the shop went above and beyond to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. What a lovely atmosphere and a wonderful summer past time. Even convinced us to convert from our local Aldi produce to the farm shop as the freshness and taste won us over, worth the small compromise on price.
